I would hope so, since there are only 6 out of 31 cars that aren't F-bodies.

Congratulations to F-Stock Drivers

I would like to personally congratulate the new F-Stock National Champion Mike Johnson , on an outstanding performance, beating two very, very good drivers. Mike won driving a '95 Z28 (read LT1!) and won the class by .366 seconds over Paul Kozlak who was driving an '89 IROC Z28. In addition, Sam Strano, driving a '01 Z28 finished third by .461 behind the leader. All of these drivers, and all the others that competed, should be congratulated on their performances.

It's encouraging to me to see two older Z28's defeat some of the newer models. It just goes to show what good car preparation can do, but more importantly, it also shows that driver skill plays an extremely large part (maybe the greater part) of what these cars are capable of.

Once again, congratulations to everyone!!!!

Woo Hoo go LT1 power. That is awesome but I am sorry to see Sam not in first place. But on the other hand third out of 31 cars isn't anything to sneeze at.

That's what I was thinking!!! GO LT1!!!!!
You're right, PLUS .461 seconds out of about 109 seconds (the total of the top 2 runs from the two courses) is VERY close!!!! These guys are EXTEMELY competitive and it shows. They ALL deserve a round of applause!

Well I don't know anything about autocrossing (I mean absolutely nothing) but I was wondering if the times are comparable between 2 different classes. Like the best Vette in SS ran a 57.2 on course 1 and the best Camaro ran a 58.0 on course 1? I am not even sure if I read that right I have never seen a sheet like this before.

On another note this really seems like fun, I have a couple friends one with a WRX and another with a BMW both of whom have been to Willow Springs once and said it was a lot of fun. They have not gone back because I guess it costs like $300 or something?

Also is there a website that tells what all the classes mean like SS and FS and stuff? Also is the Solo 2 National Championships like the biggest race? Or what is the most prestigious race in autocross?

Sorry for all the questions, just find this stuff interesting

Well first, the SS cars had to run in the rain. No, the Corvettes are faster, no question, especially the faster than the F Stock Camaro's and Firebird's. Take a look at the link I had with pictures and see what the Corvettes had to contend with, it looks like a monsoon.

Go to http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/index.html and check out the links. Classes, rules and everything are up there.

The Solo2 National Championships is the largest motorsports event in the country in terms of drivers. I believe there were almost 1200 this year. It brings drivers from all over the country to compete. It's one of the most awesome displays of machinery and drivers in the world, without a doubt.

Here in Atlanta, our region host about 12-14 events a season which for us, runs from February through November. There are also 3-4 Divisional events (ours is the Southeast Division). You can run in as many or as few as you would like. The entry fee for us is $25 if you're a SCCA member or $30 for non-members. Our courses usually run in the 45-65 second range and we get four runs.

Take a look at their web site and if you have anymore questions, please ask away, I'll be happy to try to answer!
