I need a new set of shocks BAD. I was trying to make the dying ones last, but it's smacking bumpstops now... I dont really push the car that much, so I dont need to get all I can get out of it for now. I just need them soon, as I'm still saving for a set of subframes, strut brace, and SLP susp. package. Of de-carbon take off shocks for $50+$25sh. How long would I be waiting till I got these bad boys would you figure (knowing SLP) - I live in Albany NY mind you also, and I've never thrown shocks on, any tips or advice? I have all the tools I need with a friend (spring compressors, air wrenches, a mig welder, etc)
but I've just never done it. Also my car has 135,000 miles, and would a set of take-off springs make it a little more comfy for now too? I'm not putting in the whole suspension package till winter, and I'm driving this car through sept, oct, nov and half of dec.

How slow is SLP's shipping?
Are springs dead at 135,000mi?
Is $50+$25sh for (new) springs and $50+$25sh for (new) oem shocks/struts worth it? I can always turn around and sell them on ebay after) $150 total? worth it?

Any tips on installing shocks/struts? I'm going to try to order these today if I can, get them in the sooner the better.

I ordered SLP take offs a couple of weeks ago. They arrived on my front porch in less than 2 weeks (maybe a week). I haven't installed them yet...

 

The shocks life is 30-35k miles or so, you shouldn't need new springs.
