listing of open track - road racing events
Does anyone know of a website that lists open track events with a muscle/pony car empahasis? I know about www.trackschedule.com, but that seems dominated by Porsche club and BMW club events. I like competing with them, but if you don't drive that marque, you get bumped frequently for their club members. I get all geared up, then I get my check back with a polite note saying that the event filled up with Porsche drivers and would I please try again at their next event.
Is there a national listing of Fbody events. I remember the Dallas club used to rent Hallett for an event once a year. I know some of the Corvette clubs also lease their closest road race circuit. And there is the yearly fbody event in Memphis. I know that we have some committed road racers. Maybe we could use some coordination between the regional clubs.

The Midwest F-Body club has an event at Road America once a year. I'm going next year.

The Minnesota F-Body group is running Brainerd Int. Raceway on Aug. 6

Here in the Detroit area there is a Shelby club at http://www.saac-mcr.com/tracks/schedule.htm that goes to Waterford Hills and Gingerman.
You bring up a good point. Maybe we should have a "sticky" like they have on ls1.com at the top of this forum for upcoming F-Body club road course events. Can something like that be done here?

http://www.drivingevents.com/calendar/ is a pretty good schedule for open track events, though it's not f-body specific.
I'd be glad to recommend our NCRC events to you, Bob, but it's probably a bit far away for you

Thanks for the replys. I knew that I had used a site in the past with lots of events. It was drivingevents.com. I lost my "favorites" list a while back and couldn't think of the site and Google searches never gave me a match for it. I'm going to drive to Pennsylvania in the next couple of weeks and want to experience a couple of the northeastern tracks.
We could still use a site for posting about events where at least a group of Fbody drivers are going to attend.

Check out Floridaracer.com, theres a link to quite a few different organizations. With the exception of the south Florida events, most wouldn't be too far from you.
PS. The C5 brackets are working great.....have you had any luck on finding a functional heat extractor for our application?

Mark,
I have found 2 functional hood louvers that would give adequate air flow. The problem is the inner hood bracing is in the way and I don't want to cut it. The only large area with no internal bracing is close to the front of the hood, and would place the louvers in front of the radiator; no good. For 93-97 Z28 owners, I have found a potential solution. The fake hood intakes are seperate inserts and are held in by 4 nuts from underneath. I have removed mine for checking, and I will probably take them out for my next track event, but I plan on fabing up some stainless cross-hatch screen inserts from material like that used in the ZO6 air intakes. I want to put a solid lip at the front of each insert to create a low pressure area behind it to help exhaust the under-hood air.

I've been racing through NASA (National Auto Sports Assoc.) for years. They don't discriminate at all, mainly because they have a class for everyone. Check out their website:

By the way, are you going to check out Mid-Ohio while your up in the Northeast?
