what spring rates to go with?
Alright, well I know you need different springs for different purposes, and I plan on mostly doing road racing(maaybe some drag racing as well, but mostly I want to try road racing, i know that at least for auto-x, you will run softer springs than in a road course).
I'm looking for a group in southern california, and will hopefully be able to setup my car for a class that allows the use of an aftermarket torque arm, if so I'll be using the global west trac-link(hell, if i can get away with it, i'll be running global west everything).
I've already got 1le front and rear bars(32, and 21) as well, but I still need springs, shocks, etc. I'm pretty set on a set of custom valved blisteins(strano) but i need to know my spring rates as well.
here's the rest of the information.
I'll be running 17x10 wheels up front with 275/40/17, and 17x11 in back with 315/35/17 tires. I'm using 1le bars, and will hopefully be using the global west trac-link. If anyone else is using a similar setup, what spring rates do you use for open road courses? I talked to lowend a bit, and the spring rates he suggested seemed WAY too stiff for a car will be street driven daily(with the same tire sizes, only difference being a 17x9.5 front), he suggest 8xx in front, 120 in back, and suspension techniques bars(i believe they are the 35/25 combo). I want to setup the car for more of a neutral handling car if possible, but would prefer a little understeer to oversteer(I realize that having a larger tire back can cause some understeer, and since i'm currently running a 275 tire out back, and a 245 tire up front, i deiced to pick up both 1le bars at the same time).
So what can you guys suggest to me? Oh one other thing I should mention, I will be using both global west's front and rear ride height adjustment kits these springs.
