Initial handling improvements...

Hi all. I've been reading the threads on cornering improvements, and I guess everyone's needs seem different based on their current setup.

I'm looking to improve my cornering on my daily driver...no AutoX or road racing on my car. I have SFCs and a STB, but I'm not sure what to get next. I need to keep my stock springs/ride height (steep driveways, other things), but I was looking to get a bigger front sway bar, keep my stock rear sway bar but replace the rear bushings and endlinks w/ poly. My car is just turning 40k miles, so my shocks will probably be after that, but will this be a good setup? Sorry for the long message, and thanks for the continued help.

I had a 1LE 32mm bar with the stock rear bar and Bilstein HD's on my otherwise stock car. It was a dramatic improvement over stock for only $325+80. If I had that to do over again I probably would've tried the 35mm ST bar with a 21 bar (that's what I'm doing now but with coilovers). The downside to the 35mm bar is the weight increase and I'm not sure how necessary that would be on a daily driven car.

new sway bars will make a dramatic improvement on cornering ability. i couldn't beleive the difference i had. i've got the stb, phb, lca and the 32/21mm solid bars...and i love them.

when you do you shocks...go for some bilstein HD's as recomended above, and look into some 1LE springs which have higher spring rates but don't lower the car...that's what's going on my Z this summer...

Although I didn't mention 1LE springs be careful because many dealers are substituting regular parts for 1LE pieces now (or so I've heard).

The 1LE front springs are great, but the 1LE rear springs are a little too stiff for street or autocross IMO, but are well suited to road racing.

Make sure the spring tags say:
Front springs: 22132561
Rear springs: 22132562

A lot of 1LE parts are no longer stocked, and the computer will call for a "lesser" part number for replacement.
