Would this look stupid?

I want your opinion. I have a 96 Z28, white with black on top.

Has anyone seen a car with (intentionally) different color ground effects?

1. I was wondering if having black OEM ground effects would look good, especially with the black roof.

2. I'm not trying to be lazy and slap on mismached ground effects, I'm just wondering if there is any interest. I saw it on a Monte Carlo, and it looked good, but that was red/gray.

Would it look too cluttered? That would be the only appearance mod I would do, except maybe ZR1 wheels. Let me know what you think.

I personally would never mismatch colors on my car, I think it looks like it's unfinished, but............if you think you may like the way it looks, give it a try - if you don't like it, you can always get the gfx painted.

Yes, it will. I never liked mismatched GFX....makes them look way out of place IMO.

Re: Would this look stupid?

I've seen red onces with red GFX but they also did the scoop with some sort of black and it looks pretty nice. If you have a scoop and did some sort or black to it and put black outs on the headlamps, it will look good, cuz then you have a black top, black mirror, black scoop, black GFX and black CAMARO rr fill ins.

Hold the GFX upto the car if they are already black and see if you like it. I think it might look cool.

Re: Would this look stupid?

If your whole car is done in a black/white color scheme, it'll look ok.....if your WHOLE car is white, and then has black gfx, it'll look ridiculous....at least that's the look that all the ricers seem to like (the whole "work-in-progress" look)

I think it would look pretty sweet if you had the black ground effects w/ss hood, scoop painted black, and black zr-1's.

Re: Would this look stupid?

I appreciate the feedback.

Tair: The whole car WOULD be black and white. The car itself is white; roof, a and b-pillars, mirrors etc. are all black. There is a fairly dark tint on the windows and hatch glass all around.

I'm a little skeptical about how the rear bumper piece would look (good or bad), but I'd be curious how the side skirts would look. I'd definitely want it to look "complete", maybe I'll see if I can photoshop it. I CAN always repaint, too.

I'll give it some thought. I might skip the GFX all together and just put a new shock/spring combo in.

Re: Would this look stupid?

1) Don't bother with a bodykit if you are running 16" or 17" wheels

2) Paint the bodykit, and mold it on if possible
