Convertible Carpet ( 4th gen )

Has anyone actually put coupe carpet in their convertible ???

I did not think it would be this hard to find carpet . I cant find any low mile 94-96 or 2000-2002 verts that are being parted out and the ONLY place that sells new vert carpet is GM and it EXPENSIVE ! ACC does not , and has no plans to make vert specific carpet . They don't believe me when I say the floor pans are different

vert carpet has two big holes that the vert top covers, on a coupe those holes would show up and you'd have bare metal showing..

btw what type of dye did you use and about how much did it cost you to dye the whole carpet?

So what your saying is that we can use coupe carpet in a vert and just cut the two holes your talking about.......did I understand that correctly???

Re: Convertible Carpet ( 4th gen )

I ended up trying to put coupe carpet in my car . An ABSOLUTE no go , the floor pans are so different the carpet would not lay right at all . Behind the back seats is the obvious different area , but around the door sills are completely different from a coupe to a vert .

Not one aftermarket company has yet to address the fact that the only way to get vert carpet is OEM or used . I called ACC a few times and they insist the floor pans are the same and they are dead wrong ...so dont look for any product from them that is vert specific

Jeremy - You can use vert carpet from a 97 , 98 or 99 and it will be the same color as you have now .....that is , if its dark grey . 93-96 graphite was a little darker than 97 , and 2000-2002 ebony is about 4 shades darker . If your interior is neutral (tan) ....93-96 used the same color(camel) and 97-2002 is the same color(light neutral) .

if you want to put it in a vert, coupe carpet will work fine, I don't even think you need to cut the carpeting... I think they just wanted to save a few extra cents so they didn't use the full carpet on a vert...

UUUUUUUUh , cutting the carpet isnt the problem . The little problem of it being molded completely different in alot of areas IS . Again , I have actually tried to do this ....have you ?? If you havent , I would suggest you start giving advice based of what you know , not what you "think"

Thanks for the heads up. I have the graphite color which really gets on my nerves....I don't know why. Its in great shape(40k) but I think I would like the ebony color more. I'll have to check out what zeeya has, that sounds like a good deal......

Thanks for that heads-up too. I probably would have ordered regular coupe carpet and beat my girlfriend to a bloody pulp when I found out it was for different pans....j/k
