I ignore the a$$holes who make stupid remarks. I know what I like and what I want. I'm NOT trying to look like a pimp I just like the wires. For those with REAl advice and comments, I thank you. To the others, kiss my a$$.

Are you talking about wheels like these or wheels like these?

I'm talking about wheels similar to the second link you posted except much nicer and with more spokes.

Mike
I have heard the manufacturer "Dayton" is one of the major ones and they have a good quality product that won't bend like some cheapo repro wheels.

As for size, I would think a 17" diameter. Width in the 8.5 -9 " range. Tire size definately 275/40/17. This is just the right size and won't be too susceptible to pothole damage like an 18" rim would. But if pothole damage is a high priority/worry, go with the 16" route.

As far as proper offset, I don't know if anyone makes a wire with a high positve offset. I would tend to think that most of them are around a zero or even negative offset. You would have to do some searching for a high positive offset that won't stick out of the wheelwell.

You didn't ask for opinions on look so I won't comment but beauty is in the eye of the beholder my friend. If you do get them mounted up send a few pics Brent's way. It would be nice to see some wheels like this on his "appearance guide".

Good luck with it.

Casper, I want to thank you VERY much for your input. I am having a heck of a time finding anything with the right offset. Most, as you said, are a zero offset. I will continue looking and will send pictures Brent's way once done. I am looking toward the end of this summer to have em on.

I also agree thart beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I thank you for not leaving an opinion on my choice. You are a gentleman. Thanks you.

Well heres a pic for everyone to see what they would look like on a camaro...

IMO...wire wheels are played out...atleast the real tiny ones that are stuck out like 10 inches on either side...then again what hasn't been used excessivly that is MASS produced?

However I have seen some cars pull it off succesfully with 18s or 20s. Just depends on your own taste.

I wouldn't use that brand of wheel you showed and I wouldn't use the spinners either.

And that has what to do with this thread?

I was just posting a picture for people that really didn't have an idea of what exactly a camaro would look like with wires on it and then expressing my opinion on wire wheels in general. Whether it be on a camaro, impala or heck even a '87 dolorean.

In my post no where did I bash on the owner or car. Just expressed my opinion on how I feel about wire wheels.

Whereas your post seems just to be a pathic attempt to raise your post count while trying to get the masses to agree why youre choice of wire wheels on a f-body would be unique and original.

Camaros should be bought as a performance car not a luxorius cruisin car. And in deciding to actually chose to place wire rims on YOUR camaro or in redoing the interior in velvet or something else in that nature may seem to be unique and different in YOUR mind, however I view such as a complete lack of taste and style.

IMO

The wheels with the spinners = fugly

the only thing i liked was the nice lip it had. gotta love a big lip

the gold ones are self explanatory

the 3rd gen TA way to big. looked stupid with those rubberbands for a tire wrapped around em

IMO its gunna be hard to pull off wire wheels on a 4th gen.. gunna take the PERFECT wheel to make it look decent.

but again to each his own. some ppl love chrome wheels others love black wheels..... do whatcha gotta do..

its your car do what YOU want to it

wire wheels wouldn't be my first choice for a CAMARO by far, it's a sports car, and those are pimp wheels lol
