white fenders

I have a 99 SS camaro, it is black. I have owned it from the day it was new and it has the original paint. However i have developed white stuff on all 4 fenders(the part closest to the fenderwell). I was wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of it or what it is

Re: white fenders

The composit material that the fender is made of has a whitist appearence. So it could be that the paint has worn though or flacked off, or it could be some kind of deposit, like dryed water or anti-freeze.
A better description would help.

Re: white fenders

The paint has not flaked off. It just has developed a white discoloration.

Re: white fenders

If it a general milky white, it's probably a problem with the clear coat. Harsh detergent, chemicals, and ultraviolet rays can cause this. To be sure I'd drop by a body shop. Maybe it can be "detailed out".

Re: white fenders

how exactly does a clay bar work? Waxing and polishing helps but only for a few days. Is a clay bar tricky to use.
