What should be my first mod?

Haven't even got my car delivered to me yet and I'm already looking for extras!

The car I bought is an 02. What would you guys say I should get for my first mod that is the best bang for the buck? The only things I can think of off the top of my head are chip/programming, intake, and exhaust. But what is the best mod you've done to your car that you're really happy with?

You will prolly get more responses to this in the LS1 forum. But I would go with exhaust, long tube headers, suspension work, free mods, and maybe some programming

I wouldn't even mess with suspension until you get ALL of your boltons done (headers, free mods, exhaust, etc) It took me around 1 1/2 years to get and install all of my boltons...

After boltons you could do some suspension...then top-end...bottom-end...

If you didnt get the 20 hp package, then pick up the blackwing oem lid from slp.

Take your time in modding, because if you rush, sometimes you will end up not liking the mod and/or seeing something that you like better.

Good luck with it. They are beasts at wot and after 10,000 miles!

If i had a 35th anniversary ed. I wouldnt be modding much and definetly keeping all the stock parts. I would suggest subframe connectors though.

edit: oh yea, a better shifter like a pro 5.0 (theres a group purchase forming right now... im in on it) and exhaust cutouts are definetly fun, especially electronic ones.

If I were you I would get a lid smooth bellows and a K&N first thing people get great gains off those mods

oh and do all the free mods but I wouldn't do the "descreen maf" free mod though isn't worth it

I have the blackwing, came stock from SLP on my 02 firehawk. Do you have a 6-speed? If you do your first mod has to be the "skip-shift eliminator". Consider a strut tower brace and subframe connectors to improve the handling too. Long-tube headers are a consideration too. Want alot more power, go with a super-charger or turbo and don't forget about upgrading the rear-end if you go power. If that's not enough, get the bottle.
