I'm restoring a 68 Camaro and saw a 96(I think) Z28 with a color I'd like to paint. It was a silver/gray with almost a purple-ish hue.
Does anyone know the color? Or a website that has color samples. thanks.

No I don't think it was a custom color. The couple in the vehicle weren't the type to do that. It was in exceptional condition. Maybe it was just the sun shining on it that gave me the optical illusion of the purple-ish hue. A medium grey metallic is what it looked like. I guess I could always Ebay it for a 96 brochure. I tried to get their attention but the light turned green for them before I could.

Sounds EXACTLY like purple pearl metallic. It was used on '93's and 94's. There is no color offered in '96 (except silver) that would be like what you describe unless it was just the light playing some funky tricks with silver.

Thats it!!!! Thanks!! Now if my wife likes it, we'll go with it. She also wants Z/28 striping. Purple of course. Now to find the right color for that...

 

93Z286Speed's car is PPM as well.
Link here. I think it would look nice on a 1st Gen. Never seen it on anything but the 4th Gen. Camaro's.

 

PPM isnt a bad color. A friend of mine has a PPM 95 Z28. Looks kind of cool.
