Just finished mine today at work. Really easy job as most of you know. However, the questions that weren't answered were mainly about paper type, weight, etc...

Here's how I did mine:

First I tried to use thin card stock but after printing I had too many blotches for my taste. So final product was done this way:

The paper I ended up using was Xerox Xolor Xpression, just a simple semi glossy white paper. The real quality is in the equipment that you use. In my case I have access to some high end printing machines, namely the Xerox DocuColor 12 and DocuColor 2045.

Simply opened the overlays that I downloaded from Brents site ( I used Catsnets ) They were great, no mods necessary!! Great job man.

So I printed the overlays using the DC 2045 and then laminated over the entire 8.5X11 sheet. When done, simply cut the overlays out, cut the holes for the ***** and slid them on. I'll take some pics maybe tomorrow and try to get them on my site. Gear shift selector is still being worked on as I'm trying to find a boot to put on as well. I'm ordering the redlinezone reverse indiglos to go with the setup.

Oh, and for those that are curious on how they light up, it doesn't seem too bad for me at all. I guess if you wanted it better you could take the old stick on factory overlays out. Your choice.

Yeah, your work was great. I've taken the pictures but they are at work. Not the greatest quality pics but maybe I'll take some tomorrow in the daylight.

I'll upload them to my site in the sig.

I just got a hold of an HVAC overlay, do the ***** just pull right off? I'm scared of breaking something, since a while back I broke my fuel guage needle.

Brent,
Did you ever put that .doc file i sent you on the site?
It had the gauges I "made" w/ the correct sizing for printing. (by "made" i mean I took some of the other guys' designs and mix&matched them to what I wanted: Plain white gauge, colorful "font" for the controls, w/ Z28 and LT1 logos on the HVAC- I think one of the designs I used was ReznorZ28's fyi, But I customized the LT1 logo to have the lines thru it like the Z28 logo, so technically the design is partially mine, for those who might get **** about it.)

Anyway, Brent, if you want, I can send you the pics of the gauges and the docfile so people can see what it looks like w/out having to dl the file. Let me know if you have time for this and I'll mail it out.
