Thinking About Satin or Flat Black With...

Ok, so I have been coming up with a plan for my 96 LT1 for awhile of what I wanted to paint my car. I knew I wanted to go dark, but not common. And definitely not rattle can. I couldnt find any Flat Midnight Blue .

Dark, because my car as of now is a cop magnet at BRIGHT red. Getting pulled over for doing a little pop pop that I cant control and you can definitely see me from 5 miles away.

So what I was thinking was, painting the whole red area (Satin Black or Flat Black), keeping the roll bar and mirrors as original gloss black. I did find automotive flat black in a paint can (not rattle). Then to set it off, I was going to use the lines in the hood from the 2 hood vents and paint them construction cone orange for that extra pop. Then maybe following the orange stripes with some thin white pinstripes around them.

The colors in my mind would match the speedometer, seeing as how the faces are Black, with white speed lines and orange bar. And I have the Axe devil duck sitting on my dash (mascot) which is orange black and white.

What do ya guys think?

Sounds cool. I'd do satin and not flat since satin looks good to me but the flat looks unfinished

yeah i agree with baski, Satin also just looks better imo.

as for the orange, that may be too much of a staurated color for the color scheme of what you want, but im sure whatever you decide it'll look baller. lol GL! and pics!

p.s if you want, send me some pics of your car and i can do alittle photoshopping for ya.

I've actually seen a flat black camaro with bright orange stripes and IMO the bright orange stands out way too much on the flat or satin it drowns out the subtle tone of the black but on the other hand the paint job wasnt all that great so maybe the pinstriping will help to bring it together I would vote for the photoshop option.

I did flat blk on my car because I have a gloss blk color camaro so I wanted to break up the gloss blk from the flat blk and it worked for me.
