Technical question about hoods.....

Does anyone know what the deminsions of the scoop on the RK Sport Competition hood are? Are they the same as the SLP SS hood? I know that in order to patend something there has to be a certain % variance there.

The Suncoast SS hood scoop is considerably smaller than the SLP SS hood scoop, that's why I dont want to order that one. I am going to order a hood, but I rather avoid spending $899 on the SLP SS hood if I can.

The RK Sport competition hod is $537. If the scoop size is the same or very close, then I may buy it. If it is considerably smaller like the Suncoast hood, then I'll have to bite the bullet and order the SLP hood.

The RK sport isn't the same size scoop as a stock LT1 hood scoop. I have the RK sport hood and had to have my hood modified to fit a stock SLP hood scoop grill. Also my RK sport hood is junk.

What did you have to modify and why is it junk?

The hole had to be cut a lot bigger, and it's junk because it cracked 3 times, and will be getting fixed again for the forth time. Also its not very straight, i have a friend with a 97SS hood and the differences are night and day. To me if you have an opportunity to buy a real SS hood for $900 you'd be an idiot not to. By the time you buy a 96-97 SS hood scoop grille and get it modified to fit that'll be a $100 easy, you'll spend way more money in prep and trying to get the hood to fit, and then it still won't be anything like the real SS hood.
