do those custom plates on your cutout make a different sound or do they just reduce it and its for show?

They just reduce it and yes I quess they are just for show. I'd have to figure out an equivalant area for just a "hole" opening and test it to know for sure. Might be an interesting experiment one day. I for one can't stand a wide open cutout. And I had a McCord on it. Leaked from day one. I didn't even want to bother having it redone. I don't know if it would be worth the trouble. Probably just leak again from what I've read. This is just my attempt to make it louder but not to loud. The iron cross one I am running now is just about the right size opening. Almost not too loud when I am driving and it will downright send chills down my spine at WOT. I might try to make one more with the iron cross cut out in it with maybe 15 to 25% less area for the opening.
