Does anyone know rhat is involved in repairing Spiderwebbing in the plastic front bumper of a Formula? My dad seems to think that the plastic itself is what has cracked, and I just think it is the Paint and clearcoat. Also how much do you think having the front bumper repainted, will run me (ballpark)?

You are going to have to have the front sanded down and repainted. Cost will be anywhere from $150 to $500 depending on where you live and where you go.

 

You should just need to sand back the area that has the webbing. Make sure there aren't any loose flakes here and there. Work with it until you have a fairly smooth surface.

A good body man could do the job quickly and easily... maybe in the 2 hour range? As long as the paint isn't bad on the entire front bumper cover they should just have to blend the base in with the area thats needing re-painted. They should probably go ahead and have the entire piece shot with a few thin coats of clear to fill in hairline scratches etc etc and give it that new shiney look

Like Brent said... I've seen people say that quotes they received were between the 150 - 500 range.

I was able to re-paint a Wings West mid-rise spoiler and the entire front clip along with blending the base and clearing the entire pass. side of my car for $243 bucks I still have plenty of clear and base left over to use for touchup if needed.

 

Wow, that's a lot easier than I thought. I think I am going to get the whole thing repainted though beacause it's a little faded.

 

I also have spiderwebbing on my front cover. I have a hood that I need painted and I am going to have the hood and whole cover painted at a local Chevy dealership. The body man told me that they would do just as Brent said, but that there was the possibililty of it spiderwebbing again. Cost wise its costing me $500 for the hood and front end.
