Harwood hood quality?????

I am looking into getting a Harwood "SS" hood for my 2002 Z28, and was wondering about the quality of Harwood hoods. How is the quality and fitment? Any pics would be helpful. Thanks, Shawn

Not sure with the LS1 style, but I've heard the LT1 style is crap, doesn't fit good, large gaps, and the finish is junk. Heard it takes a lot of time/work to get it look good. In general with body parts, you get what you pay for. I have an SLP and it is perfect, but it was also like 200$ more. Well worth it IMO.

i would have to agree on that with the fact that my body shop guy said the same exact thing basically. he said he has put a couple on and they all end up the same way...lots of work, huge gaps left over, and all had a terrible finish. now i personally didnt see them but the guy has done some amazing work to i believe him.

i have to DISAGREE. i have a harwood cowl hood on my lt1 and it fit perfect. i have pics on MY PAGE
WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PICS IS HOW THE HOOD CAME TO ME. I didn't do ANYTHING to the hood. the finish was super smooth and very professional. the fit was great also. yes i had to work it alittle but my Z had frontend damage before I bought it,so that was the cars fault not HARWOODS.

i WILL buy from them again

I've had this harwood hood for almost 3 yrs now and never had any problems with it. The only modification that was made to get it to fit right was trimming the edge's or lip. But from what I've read that's pritty standerd with aftermarket hoods.

As for the SLP ultra Z hood I personaly don't like the way it levels off at the top. I like the way my harwood stay with the cowl all the way to the top

I second redvette8012, I will buy form them again if needed.

Dude, your car looks sweet. The rims, hood, and spoiler go great together.

After seeing the cowl hood, I gave Harwood a call. The guy I talked to(dont remember his name) seemed more than happy to help me even though I told him that I was just shopping around. To me, that says alot for the company right there.

BTW, he said they have that hood in stock for something like $429. Could be wrong on the price but its in that range. I would assume the SS would be similar in price.

Unhappy

my buddy didn't like how his fit. I got an aftermarket cowl hood and it fit better than his. But that's the only one I heard of not fitting right.
