Is there something I can use to change the stock A4 shifter top. Another type of handle something flashy...

what about m6

I have an m6 with the regular ball thing on it. I wanted to switch it with the leather hurst shifter. Im not sure how the ball comes off though. Do i just pull really hard? or do I twist if off or what? I was scared to do anything stupid and wreck it so I figured Id see what you guys have to say first. thanks
