Shift Light in Pillar Pod?
Shift Light in Pillar Pod?
Anyone ever mount a shiftlight in a 2 1/16 A-pillar guage pod?
Just curious.... We were looking for a spot to mount my friends shift light, and I have my gauge pod here sitting empty, just wondered if anyone had done it.....
If you have, my questions to you are:
What light did you use?
How did you mount it?
How's it look?
Is it as good of a spot as it seems?
put your brainstormin caps on!

Hey Umbrae,
I did this with my Harlan shift light. I mounted it in the lower of the 2 pod holes (2-1/16). I just made the hole filler out of an old piece of car interior (I wanted the same texture look). Then I cut the hole for the light (centered of course). Glued the insert in and painted the whole pod. The finishing touch after the light was installed was a black rubber washer/gasket that fit tightly around the light (in the front, covers up any mistakes made in the install). Also, you need to put a hose clamp of something behind the mounting pod (makes sure the light doesn't come forward, I cut my hole a little big). I doesn't take much to oversize or undersize the hole. I think Funina91ss took some pics while he was overhere the other week. I will email him and see if he can post them on his website. Oh yeah, I almost forgot-it is highly visible
.
Good luck,
Chris
Brian how are the SFCs doing?
