Serious "bling"!! New engine powder coating

Ok, this engine is stuffed with some serious internal parts, so I wanted it to look good, as well. The intake, water pump, and alternator have all been powder coated with 2 stage candy purple over a bright silver base. It's pretty expensive, but I wanted something different. The powder was done here. http://www.eastcoastpowdercoating.com/

Looks REALLY good! If you don't mind us asking... how much did it cost you to powder coat? I can't imagine in costing more than chrome plating everything.

Because of it being a candy color, it cost me a little more. Most of the cost is eaten up in the labor involved in masking everything up. The intake was $125, the water pump was $75, and the alternator was $50.

Thanks for the compliments. Just so everyone knows, it aint just for looks. The specs go a little like this:

355 with Hard Block short fill, zero decked
Ross flat top Nitrous pistons
Manley 6" 4340 H-beam rods
King bearings
Sealed Power file fit rings
Polished and balanced 3.48" stroke crank
LE3 heads with 2.05"-1.60" valves
GM 847 cam
Morel link bar hydraulic roller lifters
K-Motion K-800 springs
K-Motion 10* titanium retainers and 10* locks
COMP "Hi-Tech" pushrods
COMP "Pro Magnum" 1.6 roller rockers (7/16" studs)
Lunati timing chain with Cloyes O/S bottom sprocket
Moroso oiling
all ARP bolts
Ported LT1 intake
Holley 58MM throttle body
GM opti with MSD cap and rotor
Recetronix 37# injectors
Taylor 8MM wires
MSD 7AL-2
MSD "Blaster" coil
Fluidampr balancer

We're gonna throw this in a 3300# '93 Z with a full Spohn/AJE/QA1 suspension, and shoot it with a 200 shot.

well that's crap... that is the exact same setup I had built for my car.... but I had to sell it because I needed money.... that and I only had le2 heads...

did you opt for the forged eagle crank or is that the stock one?

Thats a GREAT deal... I had my alternator, waterpump, accessory bracket, and all of the associated bolts chromed for $275.00.... if I had the intake manifold done.....I would have been BROKE!

That's sweet man. Where did you get those valve covers? That's the 2nd set I've ever seen and still can't find them.

GM Performance Parts. They're made by Proform, and come polished, chromed aluminum, and black crinkle. Mine are chromed aluminum. They'll run you just shy of $200
