Rub strip problem

I own a 2000 silver Z28 I hand wash it regularly and the rub strips look as though they are yellowing. Does anyone have a remedy for this? The car looks great but those rub strips are killing me. With plastic panels I wish they did like Saturn and didn't put those annoying rub stips on. Any suggestions would help. thanks
