Reupholstering my doors
So I cant figure any way to get the extremely thick staples off the upper cloth part that is stapled to the window rubber thing.. I went to a hobby shop and got some black micro fiber cloth to go over the stock cloth on the top part and I'm getting some red 50/50 loop carpet for the bottom of the door. So i went to rip out these staples and sheesh... i'm afraid i'm going to send a screwdriver through the plastic! I cannot get these to budge.
When and if I get past the staples, how can I remove/reattach the melted plastic parts or whatever that are holding the entire thing together right now? If anyone has any pictures or anyhting that would be greatly appreciated.

I just hate the crap cloth it came with.. its so ugly compared to the microfiber. same with the cut-pile ugly grey carpet. I was even going to go as far as getting Z28 embroidered on the microfiber in red. I think it would be a kick a$$ looking combo. ?

I'm in process of doing this right now. As for getting the staples out, you need a puller like they use in a DRs office to remove sergical staple; I found one at a estate sale, so I'm not exactly sure where to find one. Basically they have 3 teeth, 2 on one side, and one in the center, and basically bend the middle of the staple down while pulling up on the prongs.
As for the plastic tabs that have been melted.... I'm still trying to think of something to put it back together; I'm thinking of using a plastic welder and welding on some 1/2" long straight pieces and just re-melt those like factory.
