removing molding on REPAINTED car

ok we all love the look of shaved molding. ive done it on previous camaros but this white car i have now has been repainted OVER the molding. i dont know what kind of ****ty body shop did this but can it be sanded down without a trace? i bet it would most likely would have to be recleared to say the least.

It has to be redone, you can't just clear over something like that. Basically, you can sand and featheredge it out, and if you repaint right over that, you will see a little ring where the clear was featheredged, we call at an a** hole at our shop. you really need to prime the spot(or seal it), color and clear. You would be painting both sides of the car so I'd say leave em on.

yeah, and white is a very hard color to match too so there is a good chance that even if your sanding idea worked (I doubt it though!) the white would be a different shade underneath.

Like lownslocamaro said, I doubt it'll work and wouldn't even attempt it unless you have the funds to repaint it as soon as you realize it ain't gonna work
