Question Removing hatch defroster lines?

Is it possible to remove the defroster lines on the rear hatch of a '94 Z28? The window is going to be re-tinted and it looks cleaner without the lines. Plus, they're never used.

they were actually optional on cars, believe it or not, I don't know about removing them, I guess you could scrap them off but I don't know, once you get tint on, they won't be visable anyway.

Not many people would ever even notice the lines if the windows tinted.

I posted this for Ford.

And because of this thread. I enjoyed being at 2.

Ive heard of people buying a whole new window just to get rid of the grid, so thats probably what you have to do.

Ford has his own little *insert another word for female dog here*?

Apply hot wax and pull off. Hey it works for girls right... and they're complicated, also.

Actually, I didn't want to log out and log him in, so I posted it. Makes sense? Yes.

Does wax really work?

Try razor blades. They're good for getting crap off of glass.

id say use a razor and some steel wool. get the majoity of the line off with the but be very cautious not to scratch the window then clean any leftover with the steel wool. i would also recomend removing the hatch to do this.

I did this to my 84 Z for the same reason. You can use a razor blade as stated above. It won't remove then completely though. The lines will be alot less noticable. The reason you can't remove them completely is that the glass is etched for the defroster grid.
