Pull it all the way back and you will then see the metal clip that holds it on. grab a small flathead screwdriver and pry it out. Once that clip is out just pull the **** off. Don't smack yourself in the head

Exclamation

You might wanna wrap a towel around the top of the **** just incase. I yanked mine off and hit my eye-glasses which in turn jambed into my nose giving me a nice little cut on my face. Didn't know it until I felt the blood drip down my nose.

Just wondering what your doin that requires you to take it off?
Just asking cause i was going to change up the shift ****..is that what your planning? If so, which one? I was thinking of the flameball, but it seems like a kinda difficult install..

Just a hint for all of you guys -
If you push the button in before YANKING it off, it comes off a whole lot easier I suppose. I have never almost hit myself with it.

but i'm trying to fix the one of the platic sliding peices that are around the shifter...

one of them doesn't wana slide anymore and i now have a gap when I shift from park to over-drive... hooping some super glue or something can fix it...
