So I am replacing ALL the old vinyl console with new pieces i bought, just replaced the vents doors BUT I need help removing the automatic shifter ****, i tried turning it, doesn't work, tried a little pulling doesn't do anything i think. HOW DO I TAKE IT OFF PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

 

turn the ingition on and pull the shifter all the way back to 1st gear, and you will see a metal staple in the front of the ****. use a flat head screwdriver or a pair of nettle nose plyers, and pull it out. Then the **** will just pull straight up, just be careful if its the first time the **** has been off because it will tend to stick then fly up, and maybe hit you in the chin(I found this out the hard way
