Removed Emblem, how re-apply?

I removed the "Z28 25th Anniversary Edition" emblem on the dash and apparently once you remove it, that black double sided tape won't go back on.

I removed the black double sided tape from it so now it's just the plastic emblem.

I tried regular Double Sided foam tape and it would not even stick at all. In fact, the weight of the emblem dropped right off.

The tape I used was NOT 3M. Usually (I believe) emblem tape is 3M is it not? Anyone know exactly what double sided tape I need to buy to stick it back?

Thanks very much.

not sure what kind of TAPE you can use....but i believe you can buy automotive glue at any auto parts store. It's not supposed to damage paint when you apply it to the outside of cars.....so I don't think it would damage your dash either.

3M 2 sided tape is the way to go like you said. that is what we use at work when we have to retape emblems.

3M makes an adhesive which is paper thin - comes on rolls - u peel one side stick emblem to - then cut out with x-acto knife - peel other side and apply - stuff is insanely strong -

not sure where to get - i have industrial size roll cause i use it when flushmounting my design work for presentations

I've seen stuff called emblem adhesive, that might help.

I reapplied my emblems with some 3M emblem adhesive from Advance Auto Parts. Works great and is pretty easy to use.

I used automotive GOOP on one of my emblems and also on molding on an older car I had... It never came off... Strong stuff.
