Post Rear window defroster grid, can't Tint shops put one on?

I was jsut thinking to myself, what happens when Tint shops try to remove tint from the rear window and mess up the defroster grid? I've had some friend tell me the tint shop should be able to put one on, is this true?

You can repair the defrost lines on our cars but you can not replace them. There is a paint like solution that you use to repaint the missing spots.
