Depends on if there is only surface cracks in the paint/clear or if the bumper actually broke.

I hit a deer with mine and broke it... it went into the trash

I'd make sure it isn't physically cracked... make sure it's only the paint that is damaged. These are cheap enough (under $300) that it doesn't pay to spend the $$$ on the labor trying to fix/repair them if they are actually busted.

First off, I have to wonder why it is being sold after being damaged? Typically, whether to fix it or replace it would be determined by the insurance company. If the body shop guy has it then most likely the insurance company decided it would be cheaper to buy a new one than to fix it... keep that in mind. Also, I have yet to see these just crack 'a little'. Either the paint/clear cracks or the bumper cracks completely through. If you do decide to get it, make sure ONLY the paint is cracked and not the bumper itself. Ask the body shop guy why he doesn't repair it and stick it on a f-body? See if he can come up with a good answer
