Can you possibly post a picture of the this light. I just received an aftermarket spoiler from boa-fx and need the LED brake light assm.

Here's a picture of the wing's light 12" x 2" x 1" indentation

That looks like the factory SS style spoiler with the larger LED light. Mine has a smaller LED light, which is cheaper. I think you can get the factory LED light from the dealership, but be prepared to spend alot.

Thats the best I can do. As you can see, the LED is not as wide as the factory SS spoiler.

Dont you guys know about Dal? He will hook you up for a LOT less then your
local dealer. Good example is the Opti - Dealer = 650 / Dal = 225 shipped, and
its the SAME part because Dal works out of a Dealership.

That's awesome Tom, thanks!

I've always used GMpartsdirect.com, but it is very hard to find the part number of certain things (such as jounce bumpers-- part of the rear suspension) so it can be tricky to order off there.

Part number for reference. 12369969. Still $100 through gmpartsdirect. Probably a little cheaper through Dal or Jason.

Thanks for verifying the factory size. I believe the light size changed from 97 to 98 but I don't even know if the 96s & 97s used LEDs. When I asked if the spoiler's brake light indent would accept my Z28 incandescent unit the answer was yes. I even sent pictures to make sure. But when it arrived I could see I would be on the hunt for some kind of LED replacement so I needed to understand what I was hunting for.

I'm waiting on a price from Van Devere for the SS light kit.

The boa-fx wing is high quality just like the SS hood I bought from them last year. I'm guessing with the discount from Dal Slabaugh that the cost for the factory light will put me up around $250 before paint so I'm at $350. To help anyone else considering a wing; the boa-fx spoiler weighs in at over 15 lbs. bare, 20 lbs boxed. The factory composite Z28 spoiler is barely 11 lbs with light installed. So I'm adding weight but hoping, like the hood they sell that it will not be prone to distortion and cracking. Boa-fx makes high quality stuff in my opinion.

I wanted to add something and to make a correction regarding the wing I have just bought from boa-fx.

The OEM 3rd brake light is going to cost me $120 plus shipping (something I was told I would not need - see my post above). That is with the internet discount. It retails for $180 from GM. This is something to consider if you buy a spoiler from boa-fx like I did because it can turn a $171 spoiler into $300 before paint if you don't have the 12" factory LED light.

What I need to correct is my statement regarding the quality of the product. I bought one of their hoods and it was exceptional. Heavy but very nicely done and near perfect fit. The spoiler, after bolting in place couldn't be any more the opposite. Without going into great detail, a friend with a body shop could see the poor workmanship from inside the building as I drove into the lot. The two center supports do not match or come close to the deck. Right side gap along the QP is far too big and the spoiler rides 1/4" or more above the body line in several places. Trailing fin on one side mismatch to QP tip is obvious from space - horrible. One screw insert has broken free inside the spoiler. That corner is not securely fastened to the car. I have a light touch with wrenches - not my fault. Body shop friend will fit it to my car for $150 (cheap) before paint, which is a very reasonable $100. I now have a $550 spoiler. Very, very disappointing. I'm awaiting a reply from boa-fx. It took them over 3 weeks to ship only after filing a paypal dispute/claim and the wait definitely wasn't worth it. I've sent them a polite return request and will see what comes of that.

Man that sucks! That's why I don't modify my cars; I just don't know who/what I can trust online. It seems like overall you get what you pay for, but I've heard complaints about expensive products as well.

Yes it does suck but as for getting what you pay for; I bought an SS wing for my 95 from spoilerdirect and it was a much better fit with the LED light and install kit. It's certainly not perfect but BY FAR better than the boa-fx and I had it within 10 days. Total was $200. Paint will be another $100 so I'll have a better product for $300 than I can hope for with the boa-fx $550 disaster. But I think you're right, it's a hope to be lucky thing with this mail order stuff.
