If you use a sealing polish they should not rust.. if anything you could put a clearcoat on them to keep them from rusting.. and make cleanup easy

Where'd you get them! I want a set! Or can I just modify my stockers? You said you drilled them. I wonder if yo0u could start w/ a really small bit. OR I could get a set of shot stockers.

You can use your stockers, or buy some crappy used ones if you like, either way. And yes you can use a smaller bit. As small as you want, but make sure the push pin you put in that small hole can with stand the weight of the hood and the force of somebody yanking it down by accident. If they yank it down with strong pins in there it will not go anywhere. If it gets pulled with weaker pins, you run a risk of the pins breaking, which really is no big deal anyway.

Looks nice! I just removed mine and use a support rod in the front, like most of the new cars.

Can you post the part number of your original shocks so i can see if they're different from regular z28's. Thanks

Sweet. I'm thinking of doing that. Just polish the stockers w/ 2000 grit, or have them dipped?

I'll clarify. I meant to use the TINY bit for relieving the pressure... ...come to think of it, that might send a small fast stream, like a pressure washer. I might not do that now...

Gonna definently do that. Do you think it would work for the rear hatch struts as well? Mine are completely shot.

I don't see why it wouldn't , they are the same thing pretty much. But where to leave the pins while the hatch is closed??

It is not in the pic, but I have since attached a cool looking chain to each pin and looped it around the bottom of the strut. It looks decent and the pins are always there.

I see how to take off the hood struts; but how do I remove the rear hatch struts?
