Polish top of intake manifold?
I was curious if there was a way to clean up the top of the intake manifold to get it looking cleaner. A friend of mine said he used a light sandpaper and it came out clean when he showed me. So I was wondering if sanding it, then polishing it would make it put out a little more shine??

I have a pic of a completely polished manifold if you want me to email it to you. It's awesome, but the shine will dull after awhile. I think it's better to only polish things that can be touched up after you put it back on the car. The fuel rails, throttle body, ect.
I did the common powercoat on mine with rail polish, ect. I have a couple pics in the link. Grime on polished parts looks alot worse than grime on paint. Billit polish and a rag is all that is needed on the fuel rails becasue it's already a smooth surface. The throttle body, ect require sanding first. 200, 400, 600, 800, 1200, polish. The more sanding before polish the better. Try to get the metal as smooth as the fuel rails before appling polish. Just my .02.

Lots of work getting a nice polish cause you have to remove all the casting flash first. Then you'll need to seal it so it doesn't oxidize..... perhaps clear anodize or powdercoat.
