Hey where exactly did you get that Sage color?

I searched all over Dupli-Color's website and could not find any antique OR sage colors..

I want to that color also on my intake on Monday if I can find it.....my car is pewter so I think it would contrast VERY nicely. I was going to go with pewter but like you said the engine bay needs some deeper color that contrasts well. Also I plan to install some polished valve covers so I think that color would complete the look I am looking for.

Are you sure the Antique Sage is from Dupli-Color? I found the others but not that one. The part number or "Sage" and "Antique" didnt come up on the search feature of their webite & the part # didnt come up on Yahoo.

Its from a Lexus/Toyota right? Paint code 1B2?

Where did you get it?

Thanks man, your a life-saver

HOLY COW!!! I can't believe this old post is still living. LOL I forgot all about it and just happen to stop by after meeting Jason D at the 2004 Camaro Superfest yesterday. (cool guy BTW)

Anyway,............ Thanks sooooooo much for the compliments guys! I really appreciate it very much. You are too kind.

Stone........ the color to me looks even richer in person IMO and would look sweet on your pewter car. I know this may sound like what everyone else says and you might say to your self (whatever, bla bla bla,) but seriously, the paint colot does not photograph all that well and I don't know why. That's why I hate posting pics of the engine on the web as it looks too GOLD in some photos. IMO it looks much better in person. Jason D. saw the car over the weekend so maybe he can back me up on that.

I have tried to use different cameras but the look is just not right in pics. I have seen some recent photos on the web others have taken, from when I was on the 2004 Hot Rod Power Tour last month, and even with their cameras the color is still off a little from what you see in person. I think you will like it though.

As far as availability goes I was able to purchase it from on had stock at AutoZone and at Meijer stores for a few $$ cheaper. Any yes it is an import color I'm embarrased to say (thanks for bringing that up). I love the GM Pewter in the sunlight as my fathers HOT ROD Magazine Camaro is that color, but the import color has just a little more depth or richness to it for areas that are not in direct sunlight like under a hood.

FYI............ After numerous road trips and traveling on 2 Power Tours I have put about 10,000 miles on the car since the intake was painted and it still looks like the day I painted it, Fuel Rail Covers too. The paint has not peeled, lifted, bubbled, or anything like that. Just be sure to wash/degrease the intake at least 2 time to be absolutely sure it is CLEAN!! and you will be happy.

Take care and post some pics when you get it done. Maybe you can get the color to look correct. It seems to photograph better when it is not in direct sunlight like the pic of the intake on my deck before I installed it back on the motor.

Greg :-)

Cool I'll do that...Im just waiting for either the mailman to bring me a check, paypal to deposit my money into my account, or for my buddy to get back in town who owes me $40(today) so I get get this thing rolling.

Like Isaid Im running out of look-good stuff to do under my hood.

All thats left is relocating the coil packs under the cowl, shaving the studs off the valve covers and polishing them, and finish polishing ym AC stuff(ran out of polishing compound )

After that Im just going to repaint some of the black stuff under the hood(flat black) and also the little latch support, which I am trying to locate a carbon fiber version of it I saw(I know, I know carbon fiber is way too used, but I saw it and I think it would go AWESOME with that color on the intake...Im not much for carbon fiber but I want to try it anyways, I think it will add up nicely with the pewter and sage)

Ill post up pics when I get it painted

Thanks man

Your car is amazing. I have always loved the gunmetal stripes. The attention to detail is second to none also!
