Re: Painted interior instructions
I would recommend vinyl paint by duplicolor. As long as you wash each item with dish soap and water and then let it air dry you will get great results. I am almost finished with the majority of my interior. I just need to clear 2 more times on a few parts and let them dry so I can install them.

p.s. if u decide to do it the budget way like i did.. MAKE SURE to primer AND go over it with clear coat afterwards.. if u dont it will peel off like nothing.. if u do itll last for a long time

Re: Painted interior instructions
I've painted without primer before and never had a problem with peeling. Problems with peeling sounds like it didn't adhere to the plastic well, it's not a result of the primer being used, it's a result of making sure the oil and toppers used on the plastic to make it shine (IE: Armorall, Meguiar's Natural Shine, etc) are gone and off so the paint sticks.
Re: Painted interior instructions
Prep with degreaser and scotchbright, alternating back and forth. All those tiny scratches on the surface are perfect for the paint to adhere to. I quarantee etching the surface will make the paint stick 100 times better. Windex would probably work if you're afraid of degreaser attacking the plastic.
Definitely use primer, then wetsand, color coat, wetsand, clearcoat, polish. Take your time and it will come out perfect even with cheap paint.
