painted brakes hard to keep clean?

i have always painted my brakes black to hide rust and just to spruce them up. now i have a black car and was thinking red and was wondering if they look like **** once a little brake dust gets on them and if they are hard to get and keep clean. red is just a thought, is it too ricey? i will prolly just go with no-maintainence-black.

I painted my rear calipers "Daytona Yellow" over a year ago. And although they do get dirty, from a distance they still look good. They clean up fairly well just with spraying some Simple Green though the wheel onto them, letting it soak and hosing it off.

And the color actually does goes well with my Silver/Black Z.
