Paging Weld wheel users larger then 10" Wide..Inside !

I am looking into selling my welds and getting some larger wheels so when I'm making some real power I can guarantee I can hook. I may be shooting for a little too big, but I like the look of big wide wheels on the rear of an f-body.

I now have 15x9's w/ a 5.5" backspacing that stick out about 1.5" maybe 2" max ( i never measured it just guessing ) with a 275/50/15 nitto in the rear. I like the look of it, but it is for the street.

I want to run a set of 15x12's in the rear , with an accomidating tire to fit of course, but don't want to run something that looks god awfly at the track, I'm thinking of more lik ea 28-30" tire on the 15x12 wheel. All tires like MT and MH, they all measure different to a point.

Anyways my true point of the post , is to see what you guys are using, I know i talked to a guy with a white TA on here that was running a 15x12 with either a 6.5 or 7.5 " backspacing , i belive it was a 7.5". Want to see how well they fit compared to a 17x11 wheel, I have two sets of wheels that have 17x11's and different offsets. Just doing the pre-math here.

If anyone has any pics that would be helpfull as well..

Also what kind of tires do you guys run on them? LIke for a ET street style , or slick.

Thanks in advance!

Paul

I don't think weld make a 12" rim with that bs.. On another note.. I don't think you are going to over power the size tire you can fit on a 15x10" You can run a true 10" tire or a 10.5w.. Which can easily go 8 second passes with good suspension. If you can get a 12" to fit.. more power to you.

Yep they sure do, they make from 15x12 all way to 15x15 with a 7.5" backspacing. I just want to hear from people that have already done it, if it's really a waste of time, I'll stick with what I have, and just buy slicks. But I really don't want to run slicks, I'd rather run my ET streets when I get a 12 bolt.

just out of curiosity.. how much power are you planning on making to need that big of a tire. to big of a tire can slow you down.

Yeah well like I said in the other forum, I KNEW that running a big tire like that would slow me down in the long run. I am looking at about 500 rwhp with the setup I'm working on. Not as high as a lot of people have, but it will be more then enough for me to handle.

To make a long story short, I'm going to keep my 15x9's and buy these 26 et drag slicks from a friend that he used for one season. They will fit just about perfect, and it will be more then enough for me, if they aren't then I'll sell them and buy a 15x10 and use a bigger tire. I don't think I'll have any problems, I will be doing a lot of suspension work, so it should all work out. I'm just planning on leaving out of the hole VERY hard when I have my new rear end and suspension.

Thanks for all the help!
