Which overlay's?

When I bought my black trans am last year, the bird on the front bumper, the two side "trans am" emblems, and the rear "PONTIAC" had all been painted bright lime green with brake caliper paint! Well, the first thing i did when i got the car was take all of them off, and being the noob that i was, re-painted it all in metallic blue which i dont like cz it doesnt stand out enough.

I'm getting my front bumper re-painted soon and i'm gonna go ahead and get some new emblems for the side of the car. I want to get some overlays for the side emblems as well as the rear PONTIAC panel and the tailight panel. I was gonna go with chrome but i'm afraid its gonna look tacky. What do ya'll think? I don't really want anything bright like yellow or orange. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

It's all a matter of personal opinion... I happen to like the subtle look where one thing doesn't pop right out at you but it's enough to be noticed... If you scroll down to the bottom of Brent Franker's page, you'll see some different overlay colors on Trans Ams.

Since you have a black car i would recommend chrome vinyl decals, or stainless steel emblems. If you decide to go the stainless route you might want to check out www.ls1tech.com, in the appearance section. There is a guy selling stainless steel emblems to replace the old ones and they are pretty reasonable. I got my CAMARO rear stainless fill in's for $35 shipped. They look nice and will last forever unlike vinyl that always starts to peel up on the corners.

How about dark red? Red or dark red looks pretty good on black!

$35 shipped? thats a great deal! The only one's ive seen were the MBA and they were much more expensive. I'll have to check that out.

I also need a decal for the rear tailight panel bcz mine has totally worn off...i'll have to find something that will match the stainless steel pretty well.

I believe the guy makes Trans Am decals as well as Pontiac fill in's. He is making pretty much everything for an fbody. His name was dragonz28 or something like that. There were several posts in the appearance section.

nah, i'm not really that fond of red on black. I looked all over your webpage for ideas. I like the metallic silver's and brushed aluminum. I'm just too picky...I can't make up my mind.

Re: Which overlay's?

I'm going with red ones on my black t/a. I did the calipers and they look pretty good, better then I thought they would so the red decals are definitly a go...worst comes to worst and you don't like them just take them off and get new ones.

Re: Which overlay's?

Well now i'm actually thinking about going with the stainless inserts for the rear bumper and the side emblems. I think i'm going to just wet-sand and polish the rear tailight panel instead of applying a new emblem. Then if I don't like it, i'll just slap one on later.

Thanks guys!
