New Toy. . . .Take 2

Different toy. . .Picked myself up an LS1 SS Hood up in Austin on Saturday for $200. . . . Had a minor crack on drivers side and some paint damage due to stress (from the impact which caused the crack) Relieved the stress from the crack by cutting it out. . .went about 2 inches into hood and about 8 or 9 inches down the side. . .All in all, with gas, and a new-found skill with fiberglass (never touched the stuff until Saturday afternoon), sand paper, bondo and elbow grease, I ended up spending about $250 TOTAL for the hood. . .needs painted now (since my car isn't white) but still a sight cheaper than alot of unpainted/wrong color hoods out there.

Ended up using the drill here to hold down the steel plate I added to the hood for strength with the fiberglass.

So. . .Do I have a future in bodywork?

Good point, but then again, I'm not changing the dimensions on the hood. . .

Hood looks good, but I like the advice your wife gave. Sounds like she knows what she's talking about!!

Hmm... looks good to me!
(Better than the body work on our '95 Z28's hood... the body people didn't even paint over the hammer marks on the bottom of the hood...)
