New Shift **** Doesn't Fit

Hey guys I was getting ready to put my new hurst shift **** in my car the other day, and after I screwed it all the way on, the **** isn't facing forward like it should. It's kinda facing back and to the left instead of straight forward. What do you think I should do to get the **** to face forwards?
Thanks guys

you can always stick some crap inside the holl to block some extra turning. but it's a try and error proces.

My MBA **** was the same. They should have given you some paper and plastic circles to do what catsnet just said, but since you asked you probably didnt get em. Just cut paper circles about the same size as the stick, and + or - circles as needed.

Did you get the classic hurst shift Ball? 3 times the hurst people sent me a **** they swore was the propper size, and all three times the classic shift ball was tapped way to small. I just wondered if it was the classic shift ball because i heard it had to be retapped to a larger size to fit any non hurst equipped car.

That's strange.... mine is exactly like yours and went right on. It wasn't perfectly straight when it just "snugged up" so I grabbed it with both hands and TWISTED it around 1 more partial revolution until it was right. It was VERY tight but went right where it is supposed to be and hasn't slipped at all. Good luck, but try to give it another twist.
