Its definately unique... hopefully someone will come up with a method to replace the bulbs with a color that would enhance whatever color they dye the ***** with.

Personally I'd like to have a really deep color like blood red or midnight blue and have matching bulbs behind them.

And.... does anyone happen to know if the ***** from the '97+'s are a direct fit for the '93-96's? I pulled one of my ***** off today and saw where they were made of white plastic. I won't have access to a '97+ console til this weekend to test for myself.

it's a direct fit, but you know that there is no light behind there so they won't light up at night

Sweet I think that'd be better for me... wouldn't have to worry about matching up the lights and such. The dyed ****'s would look pretty good w/o lighting wouldn't you think? I pulled one of the ***** off but didn't really look where it came from. It would make sense of course not to put a light behind it that'd end up not being seen anyways.

Thanks for the reply!

all i can say about the mini bulbs is: ive been searching for a bout 6 months and have found nothing. so i bought a sharpie and colored the bulbs with magic marker. cheap? yes. but does it work? yes. and it looks ok. not as good as a the colored 94 bulbs, but it works.

No seriously, just yank them off.

yup yup, just pull them off. Becarefull though. There's a metal piece inside the **** which holds it in place. Be sure not to loose it or else you off to the dealer to buy a new ****.

Please do. I've been looking for bulb replacement for the HVAC controls ever since I put the blue LEDs in my instrument cluster. Couldn't find any though.

Question

I pretty sure the HVAC controls don't use 194 bulbs. Am I wrong here?

If they are white, then you don't have Havc guages that are designed for the light to shine through. You can put clear ones on it but no light will shine through them
