New location for shift light!
New location for shift light!
I decided to relocate my Harlan's shift light from the A/C vent to the gauge cluster. It was a bit of a PITA, but came out good. I figured I don't use the skip shift light anyway. Check the pics out.

Yeah, I love the 200 MPH speedo. I got them when they first came out. Deffinitly worth it.
The 111MPH at 0 RPM is cause I just turned the ignition on, to make the shift light do it's test flash. When I do this, the speedo also jumps up. You will notice all the warning lights are on.

Basically I removed the instrucment cluster. Disassembled it to get to the back of the gauges. I then placed the LED's from the shift light on the backside when I wanted them. Traced a pentagon round them. Cut this pantagon out with a craft knife or something similar, I had to enlarge it a couple times till the LED's came through all the way with little resistance. Then it was a matter of grinding part of the cluster on the inside to fit the mount for the LED. I then spliced and extended the 2 wires back to the controller and mounted it behind the radio, to make it easier to change if need be. I wish I could have actually tapped in the the connector for the harness, but didn't have the patience to do that this time. When I get a chance, I will take it apart again and take some pictures.
