neon tubes w/ cig lighter plug on them

neon tubes w/ cig lighter plug on them

ok i want to know if i can splice the wire and connect it to a 12v and ground because i dont want to plug it in the cig lighter to make them come on.

Yea, you can splice the wire but you will have to add an inline fuse to the power wire. The best way to do it is to match the fuse that is used for the cig lighter, I think it is like 15A.

When you have the inline fuse it will protect the neons when you hard-wire it and you can easily add a switch.

You can buy an inline fuse holder at any autoparts store or electronics store for only a couple bucks.

Yes, you can splice into the wire...just cut off the adapter and put a switch on it. I ran my switch to my fuse box for power rather then straight wiring it (I dunno why a lot of people I've talked to straight wire their neons, I never liked doing that)...If you need help installing them, just send me an email and I'll send you one back telling you in detail how to put them in (and how to do the switch, running it to your fuse box, etc, unless you already know how).
