its a camaro, but the entire front end is completely trashed, can't even tell from the headlights, or the sticker on the radiator area....thats all destroyed....all I can tell is this, its a 3800v6=96++, has 3 piece tail lights=97++ and has 97++ interior...nothing in the glove compartment, and the stickers on the end of the door are like 50% painted over with over-spray.....where else can I find the year.....short of car faxing the VIN?

 

You can't read the VIN number off the plate on the dash, at the edge of the windshield? The 10th digit of the VIN is coded to the model year.

well the car was pretty jacked up by the VIN, the winshield was cracked and the actual tag was warped, but from looking as well as I could in the limited time I had there, the 10th digit was a 'W'? so is that a code to cross reference on a list somewhere?

 

Checking my national insurance crime bureau book on VIN id's, a "w" denotes the 1998 model year.
