I would love to see some pics of this setup. I do agree that you could just do that; however I doubt that the will be a bright as this setup.. I would love to see some pics though!

I just got mine installed today. No pics yet, but they look just as bright as the ones pictured by WS6extreme. i bought them from that SuperLED light. I have 2 map light bulbs with 9 LED's that are a direct replacement, and then i bought one of those 24bulb panels and installed it. Works great. I still have 1 more 24 bulb panel coming so i may try to fit one more in the rear light. If not i'll just have to find a use for it.

My 5 yr old digicam really wont do it any justice. All I can say is everybody who rides in my car notices the lights and they are more then enough to see every inch of my interior at night. Your is most likely brighter simply because you have more lights... mine is just easier to install.

just wondering how long it would take for you to make one of yours in red, and how much. yours had 48 in it if I remember right? I would like to get one with the most brightness, but at still a decent price. I'd do it myself but I don't have the tools or a workspace in my apartment.

Re: My new LED Cargo Light. Inspired by InfiniteReality

I am already building a set in red for someone else. I am using 8,000 mcd for that one currently based on viewing angle restrictions. I may up it to 10,000 if I dont like it. My current setups are 24 LED's and are 26,000 so the red ones I am going to use MORE to compensate. The price is not going to change. It will still be $35 including shipping via USPS Priority Mail to CONUS. If you want shoot me an E-mail. I will have the red one built hopefully by friday, and will have pics...

Dave i don't believe a 36 bulb panel board would fit. Me and turbo_z each used the 24 bulb panels so that way you can turn them 45 degrees and install them in a diamond shape. With one corner glued to the front edge of the light and one corner glued to the rear. When i finally get my other 24 bulb panel thats at a friends house i plan to move the other panel over to the side and put both of them in a double diamond formation. So i hope to have 48 bulbs in the rear and it'll only cost me $30.

just remember the straight UV will not illuminate much, you may want to substitute some blue ones to have more visible light. also, if you use some chrome paint on the boards it will reflect the light even more. Testors makes some that is available at most hobby stores.

Re: My new LED Cargo Light. Inspired by InfiniteReality

Well i finally got my other 24 bulb LED panel from superbrightleds that had been at a friends house. Rather than installing it in the rear to make a 48 bulb cargo light i installed it in the tag light. It plugs right in and took me about 15-20 mins for the bracket. Here is a drawing of the bracket i made.

The green part is the LED board. If you cut a square just big enough for the bulbs to fit through you can have the edges of the LED panel to hold it in.

Dave

I can make you a blue set with no problem at all. Shoot me a PM or e-mail, and we will get that started..

Yea....... That switch panel write up has been a hot topic for A LOT of people. I will get hot on that ASAP... sorry about that..

I also have finished the design for the Licnese Plate light. All I have to do now is build it. It can consist of your choice of color (White, Red, Green, Blue, Orange, UV) LED, and you can decided on how bright you would like it to be . Once I get one built I will post it up. I will have RED ones available next week, and White the week after that. All mounting hardware will be included, and it will be weather resistant.
