My foglight melted!
Well my foglight went out and when i was changing it i noticed that it was hanging down and not in the foglight housing...so i looked and it had burned through the thing that holds it in! Some of the inside of the foglight housing was burned too and i have no idea how this happened. Does anyone know where i can just get a foglight housing b/c i cant replace the bulb b/c there is nowhere to put it now.
That's a fairly common problem when the factory light goes out and an aftermarket one is put in. I know on my Trans Am when I replaced it I used the recommend light right out of the book from AutoZone. Well, it wasn't but a few months later that THAT bulb melted my housing as well.
I don't believe you can buy just the housing. If you want a factory light I think you'll need to buy the entire light. I think you'll also find that even just a single light is EXPENSIVE. You'll probably see that it makes more sense to replace both lights with aftermarket lights once you see the price of just one of those suckers from GM.
Good luck!
