Dustin -
You don't drill on the FF75's at all.
I wish I had my digicam with me, I'd snap you a quick pic. Maybe I can this evening.

But all you got to do with the FF75's is take the brackets off and turn them around on the lights and bolt them back up.

Then you drill a hole in top cross plastic piece on the car - above the current headlights, to hang them from. All you got to do to center them up is just get your mark by placing the FF75's in there after you remove all your old headlight hardware and centering them - then drill your holes. You'll drill 4 holes total - 1 on each side for highs/lows.

It is really pretty self-explanatory after you get all the old junk off.

I have to do this install tonight or tomorrow. And I am only worried about where to drill and how to make them fit. I wouldnt mind a reversible way. I also would like them to be centered in the holes. Thank you.

Do you just drill the housing or the metal bracket across the top? I am very confused on that part of the install.

here's what i did...maybe this will help.

You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman.

No joke - you rule! You took pictures!
A picture is worth a whole bunch of words!

2 questions for you -
Can I use those pics in a guide if I ever make one?
What is the part in pic 7?

I wish I would have had a digital camera when I done my headlight install.

yeah, you can use them. i have higher res pics if you want, and a few more that aren't online.

pic 7 is a spacer because the width of the lights is narrower than the width of the 'L' brackets.

Re: mounting Hella FF75 as driving lights

I am making an attempt using the install page found on your website, I think I will be fine for now..but this was my post before I kinda "got it" a few minutes ago. Wish me luck.

Well thanks for the pics but I would like to have some of mounting in place of the LB/HB not the fogs. If you would be so kind 94BlackBowtie, to show just a few points that the linked install page you have on your site doesnt cover. Mostly I am looking for how to hang them. Wiring shouldnt be to bad, but I heard people talking about having more than one way of mounting them a way that they are centered top/bottom wise in the stock holes and also a reversible one. But thanks again to everyone I am going out into the garage in a few to get started. My email is ladiesman@cutey.com if you have any pics to contribute, I'll be checking back in a little bit.

Would you be able to elaborate on this? Cuz I think this would make the whole process a LOT easier, but ive heard its a pain in the butt to actually take off. Thanks!

it's not THAT hard. some of the screws and nuts are in akward places. i have long arms, so i think that helped. an air ratchet is good for taking off the front air damn, because i believe that has to come off as well. i dont have that much time right now (finals and projects) but if you can wait a while, i can try to give a little more detail. it's been almost a year since i've done it, so i can't remember the entire process. the thing was with me though, i spent more time trying to mount and aim the lights with the front clip on than i did with taking the front clip off. it really helps a bunch. i wish it was the first thing i did instead of one of the last. if you have any slight experience working on cars (i was only 18 at the time), it won't be that hard. a good cage light helps too, as it gets hard to see up in there. the trickiest screws, if i remember corrrectly, are up in the two corners back by the wheel well (i beleive there is a small metal strip, a nut, and two screws) and then i think there are two screws under each headlight housings that are hard to see. i hope this helps some. let me know if you need anything else.

Re: mounting Hella FF75 as driving lights

What lt1aggie did is exactly what I ended up doing, except I didn't remove the front clip. It would have been a heckuva lot easier to aim etc ... with the front clip removed.

I did find that I got flashed ALOT with these lights unless they were practically aimed into the ground. Even aimed like that, it made a tremendous difference in lighting though.

Mine were purchased of Ebay for about $40, Buy It Now. Much cheaper than Advance Auto, which were $60+.

I did not use them to replace the headlights since they are not DOT legal for that purpose. You need the other more expensive Hella lights for headlights, since they are DOT legal. They are the custom application round ones for about $100 with 4 set/aiming screws.

Re: mounting Hella FF75 as driving lights

There are two different p/n's:

driving lamp kit - 74322
fog lamp kit - 74323

The driving lamp kit appears to be below $40 shipped.

Get the fogs if you want to use them as fogs, get driving if you want to use them as your main driving lights. I replaced all my LB and HB lights with driving lights. It was a wise investment. Do a search I listed the guys name on ebay several times. Cost me 37.99 shipped a pair, works great, even if they are illegal.
