Thumbs up

I like the first T/A in the thread because it doesn't have Ram Air. With the way the media was, is, you would think every 4th gen T/A made had Ram Air. The sleeper look suits it IMO.

only a couple small corrections/additions to madhatter's post, (great informative posts) in the LT1 years, 93-97, firehawks were only formulas, LS1, 98-02, hawks could be ordered as formulas or t/a's. Also the ws6 cars had different suspension, 93-97 had larger sway bars front and rear, and a little bit stiffer springs front and rear.

Thanks Bowtie I had forgotten that LT1s were Formula only in the Firehawk line. I didn't go into tech specs, way too many to list. This was specifically appearance. There are WAAAYYYY too many Firehawk options.

A note on the paint colors - "Teal" was only used on the Camaros in the description of paint code 79. On the Firebirds it was "Chameleon". Ditto with paint code 80 - on the Camaro it was "Quasar" on the Firebird it was "Bright".

Not sure how you "decode" the color from the VIN, unless you have access to production records.

Injuneer, do you happen to have old 93-02 Firebird brochures? I'd be interested in adding the Firebird "paint names" to my site if I ever found a reliable source, and you're about as reliable as they come.

I happen to like it. I had a 92 bird and a 96 Z that were both that color. My friend bought a 94 TA in teal, but it needs a respray, and he will not keep it the stock color no matter how hard I try to convince him. Good find Brangeta! I think you and I are the only ones on this site who like the teal though.

I have the "color" page out of a 94 brochure, and a full copy of the 97 brochure.

Would you mind typing up the exact color names the brochures claim? No need for scans. I believe I have a 2001 Firebird brochure somewhere, which means that there'd only be '98 gold and maybe a couple of other colors missing from a complete listing.

the LT1 T/A (especially with a WS6 hood) is the best looking 4th gen imo.

One other tid-bit, the WS6 was only a 4th gen Formula option from 96-00, it was not offered in '01 or '02; those were TA WS6 only.

^ I love that one. To me, T/As look amazing in black, but Formulas don't. I'm not sure why I think that.

The first bird posted is a very clean specimen. Id like to have that just for the different color on it.
