most gorgeous Firebird I've ever seen

Most of you know that I'm a Camaro guy, and don't know all that much about Firebirds. Why? Because I usually just don't like the way they look. They came with funny hoods, bumpers, wheels, etc. for every single 4th gen year and there were so many minor variations, that they made my head spin. But my god... this one is gorgeous... is it all original/stock? I don't see a single weird thing about it... this is just amazing looking.

Man... not a single ugly thing about it. It looks amazing!

I kinda wondered if the rear bumper and stuff was stock for a '95. As I said, I'm not an expert in Firebirds, and rarely even look at them, so I'm not sure if this is an LS1 rear or a proper '95 LT1 rear.

Kind of embarrassing to admit I don't know if this is stock or not, but I don't feel like researching it.

Standard issue LT1 Trans Am, all the body work is factory.

It's a teal Trans Am. The rear bumper is the same on 93-02 Trans Am's. It reminds me of porksoda's Trans Am over on LS1Tech. It's a very nice color when it's all cleaned up and accented correctly!

Some shots of porksoda's T/A:

I'd say its paint code 80, bright blue metallic. The rear bumpers on the T/A didn't change from 93-02. Its definitely not a Formula.

What I find funny is, you look at the LT1 era V8 Birds, the tail lights with any sun exposure it seems all tend to delaminate inside. You look at the 98+ cars, no such problems. How ever the door panels tend to crack on those and they get the roof bubbling, all problems the 93-97 cars dont seem to have. So it's just kinda funny how they solve some problems, but have others that weren't there before.

The car is bright teal metallic, I decoded the VIN yesterday. It's hard to tell it apart from medium quasar blue in pics.

TechCam97-- I disagree with you. I think the stock one I posted looks much better. The black roof on that one is unique and unusual though. It does compliment the black painted portion on the rear, so I like that they went to that much effort!

I like that this one I posted doesn't have any nostrils or funny lumpy parts like I believe Formulas and Firebirds come with standard. Even the Firehawks from that period have a few amorphous blobby parts if I remember correctly... but that may only be the Formula Firehawks.

The LS1 Firebirds are nice... I think they look chubby though. They look best as Firehawks I think.

History lesson time!

Firebird:

98+

98+ had the honeycomb tailights, same as Formula and TA.

Formula:
Looks the same as a Firebird except the tailights were the same as a TA (grid style 93-97, honeycomb 98+), had dual exhaust, and some years had decals instead of badging.

TA:
Different front and rear bumper, had the grid style taillights (98+ had the honeycomb tailights), ground effects, and could be had with the short Formula/Firebird hatch(93-96 I believe. I have never seen a 97 with the low hatch, though I could be wrong) or the high rise hatch. The teal car you posted is a bone stock 93-97 TA with the higher hatch.
98+

Firehawk:
93-97 were Formula only, 98+ could be had in Formula or TA style. Different hood (looks like a WS6 on 93-97, pretty obvious on 98+), badging, and wheels are the only difference in appearance. 98+ had two optional Firehawk specific spoiler options.

98+ TA Firehawk - Not the stock wheels

WS6
Started in 96. Available on TA or Formula. Different hood, wheels, and exhaust tips.

If I missed anything let me know guys. : )

Wow, I've never seen that "lumpy" spoiler before. Have any more pics from it? In that pic it looks fugly basically, but I wanna see more in case it's just the pic/angle/lighting!
