Making a z28 appear to be an SS?
You can get hoods and spoilers on Ebay that are of great quality (just have to order from the right vendors)...
You have to decide a few things though:
1) Hood: Not much to decide other than manufacturer. There are people like RKSport that make hoods that are slightly different than the factory SS (more pointy, angular) but most companies make EXACT replicas. I would go with an EXACT replica because I feel they look the best...
2) Spoiler: The 96-97 style SS spoiler is different than the 98+ spoiler. The earlier style looks like a stock Z28 spoiler with a slight flip up (caused by a different upper half but identical to a Z28 spoiler lower half). The 98+ style is the two pedestal style with LED break light. This style is much more popular and easier to find. I got mine off of ebay for $240 shipped to my door and it is a GREAT quality... Only difference from stock is it is one piece instead of two. Finding a 96-97 style SS spoiler will be harder but they look great as well...
3) Rims: There are PLENTY of SS replica rims out there. Again, do you want 96-2000 (I think that was the last year) 5 spokes or do you want the newer 10 spoke SS wheels? Either you decide upon can be had in a multitude of options: Chrome, Silver, Gunmetal, Black Chrome, Black, etc...
4) Exhaust: The 96-97 style had an SLP exhaust (usually the 2 on the left exhaust) where as there were a few options for the newere ones (like the center outlets you mentioned but even those came in options: dual outlet or quads)
That will cover your appearance, stay away from sticking SS badges on it. There are SO many cool Z28 badges you can put on it (I have the 1974 style Z28 badges).
SO, long story short your options are limitless. You can make your car look exactly like whichever year SS you choose or you can mix and match.
Something else to consider are the cool ZL1/Berger cars... Basically a step past SS as far as the cool factor goes. A few examples:

I would recommend you combine a few things to make your own version...
For example... If your car is black I would go with a factory style SS hood, a 96-97 style spoiler, Berger panel (it is where you paint your back CAMARO panel satin black and install chrome CAMARO letters/fillins) Glossy Black SS rims with a chrome lip, GMMG chambered exhaust (that was on the Berger cars) with the dual outlet center exhaust from the newer Camaros (you can modifiy it to fit the GMMG exhaust, MANY people do it).
If it is a non-black car maybe go with the factory style SS hood, Z06 rims (like on the cars in the pics above), 98+ SS spoiler, Berger panel and GMMG exhaust with dual center mount outlets...
You get the idea... and for badges stick with Z28 but pick a cool badge. Examples:

and those are just a few... NO NEED to put SS badges on a Z28 to look cool...

personally, im not quite a fan of the SS hoods, there are other hoods out there that looks equally aggressive though. If you are dead-set on the SS, go for it, but also check out
fbodymotorsports.com and be sure the SS hood is what you want.

Woah, I really like that last one. Where did you find those on ebay? I did a quick z28 badge search but did not find those.

Reamo-im checking out that website thanks.
Thank you for that very wide area of information, you guys have talked me out of putting SS badges on the Z, mostly because it would be odd and just not be the real thing. I am still goin to get the wing and the hood though, rims are up for debate.
