Maaco top of the line paint job.....

I plan on buying a older car probably a 2nd gen TA or Z28. Im kind of looking at getting one with a straight body and no rust. That just needs some TLC.

Do you think that if i had them do a job for about $1500 with me doing the prep that it would last for 3 years.

Also will they put the metallic flake in the color?(dont know how to explain)

I want the car to be like a viper blue with the metallic flake in it. Maybe a little darker blue. Who knows.

So do you think it would last and have the shine i would want?

Thanks!

maaco will do just the painting on that low of a price to paint the entire car, as long as the prep work that you do is good you wont have any problems lasting 3 years, and the flake in the paint cost more so make sure your on thesame page when it comes to price

I have only had bad experiences here at mine. I payed the 1300 for them repaint my 93 red. They did everything, prep work and all that good stuff. They called me in to see it before painting it and looked it over. Everything clearly off and I was amazed how well they did the prep job. Now on to the paint. When they were finished, all over the trunk and some of the passenger side were spots where it looked like dirt mixed in with the paint and showed up. I pointed that out, so they repainted it. Fair enough, another week without my car. Got it back the second time and (I should taken pics) they actually painted my salad shooters red like the car lol. So in it goes again for them to repaint them. I should of made them by me brand new ones, but I just wanted to get away. I have the car 2 weeks and never washed it or anything because they told me not too. They gave me wax and other cleaning supplies to not mess up the fresh job. I used it everytime I washed it and it looked okay. Well one day I get caught at work in the rain. This is like 3 months afterwards. And it was one of those random showers, then it is all hot and sunny afterwards. Well go out and to my suprise, where every there was a drop left, or puddle of rain, there was a waterspot. So I head home wash and wax wash and wax again and again Four times and it still looks the same. So I took it back to them and they said they did not cover that in there warranty. Well after a few talks with the manager, they repainted it and I sold the car 2 weeks later because I found my new one. I have never seen it since. Just becareful and ask around your area if anybody else has had experience with them. Stay away from the one in Corpus.

P.S. I don't know if they do up there, but if you go and get an estimate first, then wait a couple of days, they will call and quote you a lower price.
